  2. About The National Society of Leadership and Success

Is the NSLS a for-profit or nonprofit organization?

The NSLS stands out as a unique entity, operating as a for-benefit organization. This distinctive status is underscored by our certification as a B Corporation, a testament to our unwavering commitment to balancing purpose and profit.

Our mission, which extends beyond financial gain, is to prioritize social and environmental responsibility and to effect meaningful change in the communities we serve. Our dedication to social impact is the driving force behind all our endeavors.

Why aren’t you a nonprofit?

As a certified B Corporation, the NSLS is not reliant on donations or Federal grants. We fund our own grants and scholarships, ensuring our financial independence. This model allows us to consistently make a meaningful impact, even during uncertain economic times. Our financial stability enables us to provide high-quality and reliable programming.

In addition, nonprofit organizations often have many layers of bureaucracy and red tape, sometimes limiting the organization's impact. As a certified B Corp, we are more efficient and can provide greater support, reach more students, and do the most good for our chapters and members.
