As a certified B Corporation, the NSLS is not dependent on donations or Federal grants, and funds its own grants and scholarships. This model allows the NSLS to continuously make a meaningful impact, even during uncertain economic times. By being financially independent, the NSLS is able to provide consistent and quality programming.
In addition, nonprofit organizations are often associated with having many layers of bureaucracy and red tape. At times, this can limit the impact of the organization. As a certified B Corp, we have greater efficiency, the ability to provide greater support, reach more students, and do the most good for our chapters and members.
